Aloha, the first thing that is important is to notice when you have a headache. If you can catch your headache at the beginning then often times you can keep it from becoming a migraine. I suffered from migraines for years. I once technically had a 3-year long migraine. I am grateful those days have passed.
First, notice a headache and take an over the counter pain medication like Tylenol or a pain reliever that works for you, immediately. Drink lots of water. Next, take a cold shower to calm your nervous system down. Put a bag of ice on your head and a bag of ice on your neck and lay down.
You can also put Peppermint oil on the bottoms of your feet and a few drops back of your neck ( back of the neck is to help a natural adjustment to occur). Cover your eyes with a mask, turn off all radios ( be in a quiet space) and turn off all lights. Calming the nervous system down is a crucial thing with migraines.
Rest. Keep drinking water. Keep the ice bag on your head and back of the neck. Be still and quiet and free of outside noises. Have a friend brew you a strong peppermint tea. You can keep it in the refrigerator. Drink it chilled and on ice. It will cool down your liver and calm your nervous system.
See your naturopath doctor. Hormone imbalance can cause migraines. Always consult a Medical Physician for your health.
