Shiatsu Massage Maui
A Traditional Healing Art
Does Shiatsu Massage exist in Maui? Yes! Shiatsu is Japanese Massage. It’s the application of pressure on specific points on the body, to move Ki or Chi (Energy) along pathways called Meridians. When the Ki or Chi movement gets slow or sluggish, it’s considered a blockage of the Ki (Chi) movement.
The application of Shiatsu is done with compression as well as specific pressure points on the body. Shiatsu is very muscle releasing and very structurally aligning. It improves circulation, helps the body release toxins and boosts the immune system. This modality can be combined with Lomi Lomi or Sports Massage. We have 60 minute (4 or more people only) 75 minute, 90 minute, and 2 Hour Shiatsu treatments.
In China healthcare is mostly preventive. Chinese Medicine is the oldest in the World. The Japanese took many aspects of Chinese Massage, and then changed it a bit and named it Shiatsu. Holistic treatments today include; Acupuncture, Medicinal Herbs, Curving with stones, Moxa, and Anma (massage). Shiatsu originated from Anma. The Japanese took many things from Chinese culture to change and develop. They did with Anma (massage) and acupuncture and developed them into Shiatsu.
It’s a traditional hands-on Japanese healing art. It helps a wide range of conditions, from specific injuries to more general symptoms of poor health. It’s done with medium to deep pressure.
